Round 1 in the WAAFL

14 Apr 2014 by Bianca Pitman

Our first game in the Amateurs presented a good challenge, something we haven’t been accustomed to.

Playing at home was a good advantage but the weather was better for the supporters than the players, getting to 35’.

The Reserves started the day well, battling it out against Belmont in a hard fought 9 point win. Final scores were Kwinana 9.6.60 – Belmont 7.9.51. Buey starred with 6 goals, getting best on ground.

The League didn’t go as well. The first quarter was hard fought and we were drawn at quarter time. We dropped off the intensity after quarter time and didn’t convert some scoring opportunities. Final scores were Kwinana 10.12.72 – Belmont 20.7.127.

We have a bye text week for Easter. Next game is Saturday 26 April against Cockburn Cobras at Davilak Reserve. Reserves start at 12:30 and League at 2:30.
