Club History

To participate in the South Suburban Murray Football League Clubrooms and change rooms were needed. The Change rooms we had – through the Town of Kwinana – but no Clubrooms and these had to be built.
This had to be done with a Council loan plus 10 Guarantees – these being Max & Robyn Burton, Ed Dewar, Hartland Sprigg, Gunter & Sheila Fischer, John & Carol Lohmann, Terry & Betty St.Jack, Garth & Peta Kennan, Bill & Rose Kirk, John & Pauline Pryer and Geoff & Sue Groenenberg.

There were a number of other people involved but did not go guarantees – Adi & Lancia Kattler, Daryl & Carol Franklin plus many more people who provided their time and Labor to build the building required.

It was originally thought about and a decision was made to build the Clubrooms by good sponsors and helpers.
Terry Dean, Terry St. Jack, Adi Kattler, Murray Lloyd, Terry Lloyd, Gunter Fischer, Bill Kirk, Eddie Dewar and many more members of the Football Club.

It was a busy time for the Committee and Players and whoever helped out either with cooking a B.B.Q. or made salads to feed the many helpers, as we had to keep their strength up. It took weeks – months to finish; some materials were delivered to the home of Adi Kattler – as his place was very close to the oval when the materials were needed. It is not recorded who the expertise help for designing and putting together the Clubrooms were.

Mr Frank Baker – Mayor of the Kwinana Town Council at the time, officially opened the Club in the June of 1978.

Deed of agreement was signed 27th May 1977 between the Shire of Kwinana and K.D.F.C.

Shire of Kwinana – grants a lease to the club for 99 years.
